Five Ways to Make Friends and Influence People
Five Ways to Make Friends and Influence People
You’d really like more friends, but for some reason, people just don’t seem to take to you. Could it be that they perceive that you don’t really take to them? A few changes in your behavior can make a big difference. Here are five ways to make friends and influence people:
1. Always say hello. Say hello to the postman, the trash collector, the clerk at the butcher counter. Don’t start the conversation by saying “How much is the ground beef?” Say “Hello! Could you please tell me the price of the ground beef?” You may feel you really don’t want to be friends with the clerk at the butcher counter, but maybe you do – and either way, it’s good practice. Saying hello is the first of our five ways to make friends and influence people.
2. Smile. Whether you initiate the conversation or are approached by someone else, don’t look surprised or uncomfortable or (heaven forbid) inconvenienced. The smile may be the single most important step in our list of five ways to make friends and influence people, because for some people, it’s the hardest.
3. Assume the best – or at least act like it. The neighbor’s boy didn’t mean to bat a stone through your window. The door-to-door salesman didn’t mean to let your cat out. The news carrier didn’t mean to leave your paper in the snow. It was all a mistake, and can be rectified. Graciousness is number three in our list of five ways to make friends and influence people, because the people you treat nicely don’t forget it.
4. Center the conversation on the other person’s interests and accomplishments as soon as you can. “I love your hair! Where do you have it done?” “I was really impressed with your presentation at the meeting today.” If you’re in the middle of a conversation that starts to go sour, turn it around to shine a positive light on the other person. People are generally happy to talk about themselves, and are flattered by your interest. Number four on our list of five ways to make friends and influence people is praise.
5. Don’t prattle on about yourself, your interests, your children, your job, your accomplishments. You may think these things are fascinating because they’re important to you, but trust me, they’re not nearly as fascinating to anyone else. If you do bring them up, mention them in a way that supports what the other person was saying. “I know what you mean about football practice. My son feels the same way.” If your companion now wants to know about your child, answer modestly but briefly before circling the conversation back to the original topic. Modesty is definitely one of the most important of our five ways to make friends and influence people.
The common denominator to all these tips is the need for you to make pleasant overtures, then shut up and listen. “She’s a great listener” is always a compliment – a remark normally said of our dearest friends. Taking that one step will ensure your ability to make friends and influence people.

Most experts in foreign language education agree that students should begin by listening to the language, allowing it to imprint itself upon their subconscious. When you first hear a foreign language, all you’re consciously trying to do is understand it. Even before you comprehend the meaning, however, your brain is subconsciously acquiring a sense of how that language ought to sound, and this is a step toward being able to speak it on your own. So choose a system of language training that emphasizes listening and speaking rather than conjugating lists of verbs right off the bat. Listening is the first major step in how to learn a foreign language…

The Best French Learning Programs?
A baby growing up in France doesn’t know anything about French learning programs. He learns to talk by listening to his elders talk, and also by making noise. The parents, delighted that their child is trying to communicate, will talk back – but more importantly, they’ll correct the child’s pronunciation. For example, the baby, quite randomly, says “Puh-puh-puh.” The father will say, “He said Papa! Do you love Papa? Papa loves you too!” Eventually, after numerous interactions like this, the child will learn that it isn’t “Puh-puh-puh,” it’s Papa, and the sound refers to that nice man with the rough face who smells like shaving cream…

What Will You Learn By Reading Other Peoples Rocket French Reviews?
There are so many Rocket French reviews on the Internet but will you really learn anything from them?
I’m sure you have this question in the back of your mind when you read other peoples Rocket French reviews. We are bombarded with sales copy and bogus reviews on a daily basis. I’m very skeptical when I read other peoples reviews these days. Some are trustworthy and others are just trying to get a sale from you. So who can you trust?
I’ve recently decided to review the Rocket French language course for myself. This was a timely and a bit costly to do, however I did find what I was looking for. Now I don’t recommend you do the same as I did, unless if you are also as super skeptical as I am regarding other peoples BS.
I’ve currently published two Rocket French reviews on my language site and am planning to do the same for all the other language courses out there. This will take some time and a lot of money, but since I’m a authorize Pimsleur language course merchant since 2006, I think that I’m the perfect person for the job.
I see on a daily basis what other people are buying, how much they are willing to spend on learning a new language and what they likes and dislikes are.
If you are planning to learn French then I recommend you read my two free reviews below before you commit yourself to any French language course. I’m currently only comparing Rocket French and Pimsleur French with each other, however I’m considering to expand my research to other French language courses in due time.
Click here for the Rocket French vs Pimsleur review and here for my complete Rocket French Review.
I’m sure after you’ve read my Rocket French Reviews that you’ll be able to make a more informed decision regarding buying Rocket French or Pimsleur French for learning French the easy and fun way…
